Historical Destinations Around Wichita - J.P. Weigand & Sons, Inc.

The Wichita area has a rich history that includes cattle drives, Native Americans, and aviation manufacturing. If you'd like to learn about some of the area's history, you'll find several museums and other stops, including an old-fashioned sandwich and soda shop, that are well worth a visit.

Our real estate agents suggest stepping into the past at these Wichita destinations.

  1. Old Mill Tasty Shop – 604 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS 67202
Although it may not seem like a traditional historic destination, the Old Mill Tasty Shop has been serving hungry and thirsty customers since 1932. The atmosphere is friendly, and some customers make the Tasty Shop a daily habit. Take a break and order a soda that's still made the old-fashioned way, or try a malt, shake, or float. If you'd like to make a meal of it, order the daily blue-plate special, or choose a sandwich like peanut butter, banana, and honey.
