With sunflowers as far as the eye can see, Grinter's Sunflower Farm is well worth the drive from Wichita. With the fields planted July 9th this year, sunflowers are expected to be in full bloom in early September. While professional photographs are known to schedule sessions here, the general public is welcome to snap pictures as well.
Photo seekers are advised to come on a sunny day, about two hours after sunrise or before sunset. You're sure to be rewarded with some amazing pictures.
- Cedar Creek Farm – 6100 N. 119th St. W, Maize, KS 67101
Cedar Creek Farm is a family-run property near our Maize homes for sale with several expansive sunflower fields for guests to enjoy. There are usually several varieties in bloom here during the early fall, and you can pick some of them during your visit for a small fee.
There are also many other activities to enjoy here, including pony rides, a barrel train, and children's playground equipment. Take your kids and plan to spend a few hours enjoying the last of the warm weather as fall sets in.
- Walter's Pumpkin Patch – 0001 NW US Highway 77, Burns, KS 66840
Despite its name, Walter's Pumpkin Patch is also well known for its stunning sunflower fields. This fall farm near our Burns homes for sale is more of an entertainment venue than a true working farm, offering dozens of activities for kids as well as a few for adults.
There is also a small eatery and gift shop on the premises where you can pick up some lunch or a souvenir. Be sure to reserve plenty of time for all these extra activities during your trip after you've paid a visit to the sunflowers!
- Gaeddert Farms – 13209 E. 82nd Ave., Buhler, KS 67522
If you truly love sunflowers, Gaeddert Farms has a treat in store for you. Each year, the farm hosts a sunflower extravaganza called the Kansas Maze Sunflower Festival. On top of their 16 acres of brilliant blooms, the farm offers sunflower painting classes, hosts Sunflower Trail 5k and 1k runs, and operates a sunflower-themed market on certain days during the event.
