I grew up in South Dakota on the family farm. Following a family tradition I got my engineering degree from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in the mid 90's and I ended up in Kansas when Boeing was hiring engineers like crazy to work on the 737 next generation airplane. But, after two decades of engineering, I decided it was time for a change and took a leap of faith to pursue a career in real estate. Over the years, I've bought and sold a few homes myself and obtained a few rental properties. Those transactions sparked an interest in the real estate market and so I finally decided to take the plunge and try something new. I've lived in the Douglass, Rose Hill, Augusta, and Derby (Southeast and East of Wichtia) area for many years and am very familiar with the details of these areas. Rural properties are my specialty but I am knowledgable about the communities and schools in all of these areas and am happy to help you get to know what's most important about your new home; the community around it! The solid work ethic and integrity that I learned on the farm is as strong today as ever. Further, as a MRB Liaison Engineer for the greater part of my engineering career, I learned and honed invaluable problem solving, organizational, and negotiating skills that are tremendous assets in the real estate market. I'm excited about the prospect of putting those skills to work helping you achieve your real estate goals, whether it be buying or selling a home. I'm also very passionate about community service and volunteer work. I currently serve on the USD 396 Board of education in Douglass. I also make time to volunteer at our church, within the community and for various non-profits in Wichita. One of my achievements that I am most proud of was the opportunity to work as a Loaned Executive for the United Way of the Plains during their annual campaign in 2011 and I was thrilled to win the Laurie Green Loaned Executive of the Year award. I have two daughters. We spend much of our time outside, taking care of the horses, cows, dogs and cats we house on our hobby farm south east of Wichita. Church, community activities, sports and 4-H also take up much of our time and efforts. Finally if there is a free moment, you'll find us soaking up the sun at the lake or making trips back to our other favorite state, South Dakota! I look forward to meeting you and working hard to earn your business!
