I met Iris Fletcher at R Coffee House, which is located in Riverside on the corner of Bitting & 11th. R Coffee House possesses small town comfort along with displays of local talent. Here you’ll find so much more than a cup of coffee! R Coffee House offers a breakfast and lunch menu, specialty coffees and live music. “I’ve always been fascinated by shapes and odd things” is a quote I jotted down during my visit with Iris. Those words resonated with me while studying Iris’s work. This may explain my personal favorite of Iris’ pieces to be “Birds in Tune”, where Iris’s lifelong obsession is highlighted and celebrated.
